I'm questioning the tune on my '03 Mach 1 w/ Procharger. It was tuned by Craven Performance before I bought it. It's ALWAYS reading 14.7:1 AFR until I'm practically at full WOT, where it finally goes to 11:1. Engine load doesn't seem to matter at all, it's 14.7:1 at all time unless flooring it. This doesn't seem safe to me, can an expert chime in?

I'm taking it to Bobcat either way. I'm waiting for a call back from his shop to schedule a tuning. Just wondering if I should really even be driving it like this, or just be really careful about engine load and take it real easy.

That is near the " optimum" A/F ratio for idle and WOT for FI. However, if it makes you feel better, take it in to see bob for a rundown from

idle -> WOT to see how she's doing ;-)

Hi joseph. I know it's good for idle, or even leaner when decelerating, but I was under the impression that it should steadily get richer as engine load increases like moderately accelerating to pass somebody or climbing a hill.

That's where my Mach 1 sat - maybe a little higher at idle. Mine was tuned by the same guy yours was lol. Have Bob look it over to be safe. Rather be safe than sorry. Couple hundred bucks now, is cheaper than 10K for a built 4v lol. Especially when it's unplanned. Also Bob will tell you if you need something else. That's what I've enjoyed working with Bob. He'll do what you want, but will give you a heads up on something if he would do something different than you had planned. He did that with my old cars and also with my Dad's TVS Coyote. YAY another go Bob post lol!

Yeah man I've literally never read one bad thing about Bob. Ever. I'm starting to think he's probably the best Mustang tuner in the country lol. At least in the midwest. If I had to spend $10k on a new motor, that car would be sitting in the garage for like a year first! I'll happily spend $600 or whatever it is right now instead for peace of mind.

The gauge is an Autometer analog. I don't know anything else about it. Not sure what actual sensor is in there.

Trust me, I've been thinking about it lol. Just a little worried about pushing it too hard with the stock internals. I know it can probably take it, but I like to be a little cautious. It's my daily and I want it to last as long as possible! Especially with a 10.0:1 compression motor, gotta be a little careful. I think I'm going to save up a bit and get forged rods+pistons next year then crank it up to maybe 10.
