Was you at DQ in desoto a few weeks ago. ??????

Yeah Dave, sure was.  I wasn't able to get to the car show until right at the very end, and most everyone had gone by then.

I saw you talking with a group of guys, but I wasn't going to be a D-bag and just walk up and interrupt you all.

The car show is again this Saturday evening at DQ, and as long as the weather holds out I'm hoping to get my car out and bring it up there.  Hell, I haven't even started it since last November, and the license expired on it in December lol.....

Damn, it's hard to believe it's been almost eleven years since this Stlm track night....

I enjoyed looking back at the pictures (at least the ones that still show up lol)

Thanks Steve for the decade old thread bump

The assumption is that your thermostat stuck on you while at the car wash, thus causing the car to get hot.  You have now replaced the thermostat, but it is still very likely that you still have air in the system.  Do exactly as 1BD9D7 says.  Keep the rear tires on the ground, get the front end way up in the air onto some jack stands, and fill from the coolant crossover plug.

FWIW, I just recently got my car back up and going after having the motor rebuilt, and I had to do this exact thing to my car 3-4 times (meaning doing this procedure mentioned above, letting the car cool down overnight, and repeating again the next day).  I was really surprised how much air there was still in the system (ie. how much coolant I could add every time) every time I would repeat these steps of filling through the crossover tube.

I too let mine idle for a bit in the driveway and the temp looked good, but I then took it for a quick spin down the road and I guess this dislodged an air pocked from somewhere in the system and the car got hot on me.  That's when I got the front end way up in the air and "burped" the system some more.

We are cruising this weekend.

Festus Walmart. To culvers in Arnold

A bunch of meets and cruises coming up. Weather is still kinda crazy.

Damn Dave, this weekend won't work for me, but hopefully a small get together/cruse like this happens again as I would love to attend some time.

I just got my car up and going again after more than 3 years, so I'm sure it will be awesome to finally get some windshield time again.

Nice passes for sure!  Impressive runs for the few mods that it has.
