So I am wanting to buy a V8 car sometime in the coming year, and I'm really wanting to get another New Edge car but if I can't find one I like in my price range, I'm thinking about getting a '97 or '98 Mark LSC...

I know they're not that fast factory, and I know they have weak factory transmissions, but how fast can you makes these go with marginal amounts of money? I was interested in them before I bought my current vsexxer, I have a relative who knows a huge amount of information about Ford performance and he suggested looking for one of them instead of a Mustang for cost reasons...(to make a long story short, I never found one and bought my current car in an impulse buy, it's in next to perfect shape, especially for a V6)

And I know someone on here has one with a Terminator engine, I can't say I have the means to do something like that lol, but do you guys think it would be a good investment and a fun toy, or do you think I'd be happier waiting a little while longer and getting a new edge GT? I really love the new edge cars and regardless of what I get, I'd probably find one to play with whenever money would be a non-issue.

thanks, I always love hearing people's opinions on good project cars...

It would cost you way more money to get a mark 8 to where a stock new edge is. If you're looking for speed get a mustang. There are a couple nice ones for cheap on here. Ajs88 is priced right and has the best exhaust ever.

They essentially have a 96-98 Cobra motor, and with a blower and tires can run in the low 12's without much else. There is a video on the web somewhere of my car getting ate up by a blown/slicks Mark 8 when my car was slow...er.

Single-turbo '96 Cobra with paint and a Bobcat tune. Be prepared for some tricks up these sleeves. Abra-cadabra, holmes.
Weak-ass 12.50@116mph at 5psi with 1.97 60-ft so far, yanking the tires then blowing them off. I need axles, a 2-step, and some suspension tweaks. Screw it, I'll just toss in the new motor and crank the boost. MPH for the win!
Other current vehicles include: modded '99 Wrangler TJ, modded '69 Bronco
